I have been waiting excitedly for this family for a few months now.
Earlier this year, I participated in a silent auction to raise money for a local bakery. The winning bid raised a great amount for the bakery, and we got to get together and hang out for the afternoon with this beautiful winning family.
While the gorgeous Polly was getting her hair and makeup done by the fabulous Katheryn, the rest of us were playing in the park.
It gave me an opportunity to let the kids run off some energy and oh my, did they need it! Both of these littles are the sweetest little monsters ever! The youngest little girl is very obviously fearless. She will do anything without thinking about what might happen because of it. But OH her facial expressions. She is fiery and full of life. The only way she calms down is if she is in someone’s arms. Or has props.
And then there is big brother. He is less fearless, partially because he is older, but also because he is very cognitive to what is going on around the world. His facial expressions were so expressive and pensive. The only time I could get him to stop talking was when I asked him if he could see the bug in my lens. His rosy cheeks are just the best, aren’t they?
The weather was perfect to play. Even with the bright sun – it’s a perfect time to fly!
After mama got gorgeous, she got to play for a little bit before we went on a walk.
And then we got to explore the hiking trails next to the park. This is my favorite area to shoot in, especially with younger kids. Even if the working them out before hand didn’t quite help as much…these two are a whirlwind of energy!
But we all survived! No one was hurt or died, which is always a goal for my sessions. I’m at a 100% success rate as well!
We had such a nice and explorative hike. Looking at the trees and the plants, finding badger dens and looking for squirrels meant everyone was occupied.
And thanks to a baby on my shoulders and the little man telling mommy and daddy how to pose, we got some photos of just the adults.
I love when two very busy parents have a moment to breathe. Even if it’s just a couple moments of peace and quiet where they can remind themselves why they fell in love. Because raising two toddlers is no joke and definitely not for the faint of heart.
This winning family is one of my favorites, and so I think I’m the big winner in this case. What about you? Do you think they are as fabulous as I do?
Do you need your own family photo session? Contact me to get on my schedule! Now is the perfect time to get family photos for your Christmas cards! Before the rain and the clouds come in!
